My name is Wes Perdue. I live in the San Francisco East Bay Area, California, with my brother Ryan and our two cats, Galadriel and Arwen.
Yes, they're named after Tolkien elves.
I work at Cisco Systems in San Jose; I am the systems administrator for DSBUlab and WNBUlab. For those who don't understand that last sentence: I manage the computer systems for two large labs at Cisco Systems, the company who makes the computer networking hardware that runs the Internet (i.e. we make the tubes :-).
I am a Christian. I am a computer geek. I love to read, and I love books. I love photography, and have been all digital for a number of years now. I like to write, both on the computer and by hand. I love writing instruments of all types, especially fountain pens. I love games, especially Go, card games, and other board games. I am a teacher; until recently, I taught youth Sunday School, and I look forward to teaching the Bible again in the future. I love to study the Bible. I enjoy studying theology. I have a well-rounded collection of Bible translations and Bible reference books.
I tend to live my life on the web these days, thanks to the iPhone by Apple, Backpack and Highrise from 37Signals, ToodleDo, Wikispaces, Twitter, and Google (Gmail, Sites, Book marks, Page, and Docs).
I don't yet own a Macintosh, but as Microsoft digs their grave with Vista and XP becomes long in the tooth (which may yet take a while), my purchase of a Mac becomes inevitable.
I enjoy riding my bicycle with my brother; we try to ride every weekend.
I'm terribly fond of good stationery, and am quite fond of my three Levenger Circa notebooks.
